on a bitterly cold night the youth team put in another performance of which they and there manager could be proud of. Weston started the game at a quick pace. And after 6 mins they had there first shot in anger when Ryan Hawkins ran in of the left wing and shot straight at the keeper after that weston continued to pile on the pressure when after 16 mins sam Clark had a shot which was well saved but from the restart weston got the ball back and David Thorne played a precise through ball for Steve Lafford to drill home. westons next attack came from a strong run down the right flank as Dayle Grubb cut into the box chard's Ben Shellan slipped and ended up handling the ball for a weston penalty Sam Clark stepped up confidently but the keeper guessed right and pushed the ball away. After 35 mins weston got there second goal when Dean Pierson shot from 18 yards out which caught the keeper flat footed and the ball crept in under him. The second half began much the same as the first with weston on the front foot weston had shots from Dayle Grubb,Steve Lafford,Sam Clarke and David Thorne all being blocked or well saved by the visiting deffence and keeper. But after 62 mins weston got there third after great work by David Thorne on the edge of the area he waltzed in to the area then laid it back for Ryan Hawkins to score. Then after 65mins Steve Lafford got his second of the game when he lobbed the chard keeper as he tried to beat him to the ball after that weston took there foot off the gas a bit and then after 71 mins chard got there consolation goal from a free kick taken by Danny Cleal he whipped the ball in to which Jon Mawwy rose and glanced the ball into the far corner. praise must go out to westons captain Sam Johnson who marshelled his defence and team excellently through out the game.
