Weston St Johns 0 - 0 Weston-super-Mare XI
21/07/2007 -Friendly - 3:00pm
The Seagulls travelled to nearby Weston St Johns FC for their latest pre-season match. Weston, without several key players, were made to fight hard for their share of the spoils at Coleridge Road, but in spite of a missed early second half penalty the Seagulls defence wasnt breached.
Weston forced a string of corners although they flattered to deceive in front of goal.
At the other end, former Weston youth player Dan Vickery brought a full-length save from Ryan Northmore early on and the big keeper was also forced into action later to a turn a stinging shot behind form the same player.
Westons second half keeper Ben Johns guessed Ryan Havards spot kick in the 50th minute.
Weston take on BGB Southern League (South & West Division) play-off finalists Taunton Town FC in their next pre-season friendly on Tuesday evening (24th July), kick off: 7.30pm.

Post match comments:
Andy Llewellyn (Manager Weston St Johns FC): I was very pleased with my lads. It was our first game and I thought we were well organised. It was an enjoyable game but a pity we missed our penalty! There is a long way to go but it was a good work out for us. Id like to thank Weston for coming down to play us. I was very pleased with the attendance too, which Im told was well over 100 today, so thanks to the fans for turning out to watch today.
Chris Smith (Assistant Manager Weston super Mare FC): Our second half performance was better than the first half. We missed a great deal of chances though. I was pleased with the discipline we showed
