After the heroics of Saturday Weston fans were left a little disappointed on Bank Holiday Monday with this below par performance which allowed the visitors a share of the spoils.

Weston went with the same starting eleven from Saturday but it was the visitors who had the better of the opening exchanges with Tom Mitchell and Nick Crittenden both having attempts just off target. Weston's first chance fell to Marc McGregor but he was foiled by keeper Gareth Stewart and the chance went wide.

McGregor also had bad luck in the 29th minute when his flick cannoned off the crossbar but the quick reaction of Scott Partridge raced in to head the ball into the net despite the attentions of the full back. This was the strikers first goal for the Seagulls.

Weston seemed in control of the game but as so often before a terrible mix up in defence which saw Ashan Holgate and the normally reliable Craig Rand each leave the ball to the other and the grateful Jacob Erskine, on loan from Dagenham & Redbridge smashed the ball home to send the teams in level at the break.

Within 2 minutes of the restart the home side had retaken the lead when Partridge returned the compliment, breaking down the right his pinpoint cross into the box saw McGregor slide in and steer the ball home.

This should have spurred the home side on but they were caught out on 62 minutes when another mistake from Rand saw him completely miss his tackle which allowed Mitchell Nicholson a shot on goal. Northmore managed to parry the ball away but from the resulting corner the dangerous Phil Walsh found space in the box to power home a header.

Weston had chances to regain the lead but several free kicks were completely wasted, harris fired over, and Partridge just failed to connect properly with his effort which sailed just over the bar.

Substitute Brown almost nicked it for the home side in the dying seconds when he controlled the ball neatly, turned and hit a low shot which brought out a fabulous save from Stewart, who, diving full length to his left just managed to claw the ball away.
