Weston fought back from two goals down at half time and sealed a dramatic victory with two goals in the final minute at Woodspring Stadium to end a run of three successive defeats, even having the luxury of missing a penalty halfway through the second half. The visitors also lost their discipline in the final moments and had skipper Luke Nightingale dismissed for two cautions.

Weston began in determined fashion with Aaron Wilson almost through in the opening seconds but he was tackled from behind and despite appeals from the home crowd Referee Chris Powell waved away appeals for a penalty. Gareth Hopkins was next to threaten the visitors goal but his effort hit the side netting.

Against the run of play Bognor opened the scoring on 31 minutes when the Weston defence failed to clear the ball and when it was swung back into the box David Ray headed past Ryan Northmore in the Weston goal. Things got worse for the Seagulls just three minutes later when another quick break saw skipper Luke Nightingale left in acres of space and he shot home from just inside the box.

Within four minutes of the restart the Seagulls had reduced the deficit, from a throw in down the right, Hopkins flicked the ball onto to Ashan Holgate, he in turn fed Dean Grubb who hit a low cross into the area. Racing in at the far post came Matt Hale to slide the ball home from three yards to register his first goal for the club.

From this moment on Weston pressed forward looking for the equaliser, Holgate saw his drive saved by the overworked Craig Stoner, Hopkins forced Stoner to parry his vicious crossshot but no Weston player was on hand to cash in. Weston were then awarded a penalty when Craig Loxton was hauled down in the area, Barry McConnell stepped up but Stoner guessed correctly, diving to his left to smother the weak effort.

Just as it looked as though Weston had thrown away their chance came the dramatic final moments. First came a second yellow card for NIghtingale, for kicking the ball away, then came the equaliser when Hopkins back headed a Harley cross over the head of the stranded Stoner and then in the dying seconds Holgate managed the deftest of flicks to a Grubb cross which somehow managed to creep in the top corner
